Comparison to Guide dogs? edit
I had a hard time finding sources for this. In the US it's estimated that only 2% of visually impaired Americans use canes so I wanted to find more facts/cites for this section which i am including here. Any help appreciated. Jessamyn (talk) 18:07, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

Despite the high profile of guide dogs, however, most blind people still use canes at least sometimes, and many still use canes entirely.
- I think this would be very hard to find a reliable source for, but in my very limited experience, it seems to be more or less true. I've taken the liberty of removing the section properly and fixing the copy of it on the talk page. I was surprised by your comment about only 2% of visually impaired people in the US using canes, but I found this source, which cites figures of between 2% and 8%.
