Lead

edit
  • Delink black and white per MOS:OVERLINK
  • "The film is shot in 16 mm film and 9 minutes long. The film features animation, montage, jump cuts, associative editing, and freeze-frame shots." - think these sentences could be merged and shortened slightly
  • "Scorsese, said the film has no depth at all." - the comma is unneeded
  • "He directed the film shortly after watching Federico Fellini's surrealist comedy-drama 8½ (1963)" - Federico Fellini's 1963 surrealist comedy-drama
  • "The film was supposed to be a horror film but it later turned out be a comedy." - intended
  • Also, repetition of the word "film" in the above sentence is not recommended
  • How about give a brief mention of the reception of the film by reviewers?

Summary

edit
  • "(played by Zeph Michaelis)" - I don't think the wording such as "played by" is needed in all of the instances the phrase is mentioned in the section
  • "is a writer who buys a picture of a boat on a lake. He becomes obsessed with the picture." - how about merging these two sentences and shorting it slightly to avoid an almost CV-based stacatto
  • "he finds himself trapped inside of the picture." - inside of it.

Cast

edit

Production

edit
  • "The film is the first film of Martin Scorsese." - repetition of the word "film"
  • "What's a Nice Girl Like You Doing in a Place Like This? was supposed to be a horror film" - intended
  • "The film features music of Richard H. Coll," - the text in bold should be changed to either features the music of Richard H. Coll or music from Richard H. Coll,
  • "and it is edited by Robert Hunsicker." - was edited by Robert Hunsicker.
  • "after watching Federico Fellini's surrealist comedy-drama (1963) for the first time." - reduce the amount of links per MOS:SEAOFBLUE
  • "but the re-release is 10m 2s." - 10 minutes, 2 seconds.

Reception

edit
  • "Martin Scorsese described the film as "a tale of pure paranoia"." - it should be just Scorsese per MOS:SURNAME
  • Briefly state who Annette Wernblad is
  • "Peter Galvin of Special Broadcasting Service wrote," - of the Special Broadcasting Service

References

edit
  • Both mentions of Univ. Press of Mississippi should be University Press of Mississippi
  • Reference 5 should include the author who wrote the article
  • Reference is lacking the date it was published
  • Reference 10 is missing the author of the article and the date it was published

Will put the review on hold to allow the nominator to address/query the points raised above. MWright96 (talk) 15:31, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
