Archaic
editI contest the idea that 'wharfinger' is an archaic term; firstly the OED does not list it as an archaic entry and secondly, having worked in a harbour I've heard the term 'wharfinger' used many times so I know it to be in active use in the language. Removing the term 'archaic' seems to require altering the tone of the whole article though as the definition seems to include duties a modern wharfinger is unlikely to have (such as living on the wharf). Maybe the article could be expanded somewhat to note archaic and contemporary wharfinger-duties? Stevebeck (talk) 04:24, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
