West Jefferson Medical Center is also a place of stealing and racism which is part of the establish mentality. Government officials, and a Parish President had been connected with wrong doing,using the hospital as a profit making place for personal gain. Pam Watson a former Vice president and political appointee had stepped down after being caught in a payoff scandal with venders for the hospital. At the WJMC Fitness Center the Director has Anette Cheramie had family members lie to get jobs and handed out contracts to her family members to do work cleaning the pool deck and other jobs. Tim Bracey former Senior Director falsified documents to fire a former Black (Cape Verde) trainer, after an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaint was filed for a racially charged photo which was posted on the companies private computer network by white workers. Anna Reed and Cortney Groue were prime suspects for committing the act along with other workers. The racist white workers were protected and no one was sought for the act. A second EEOC complaint was filed after the trainer's civil rights were voilated upon being fired in retalliation of the first complaint. The incident occured in mid 2008 and the Cape Verde fitness trainer Derek Rose, a highly decorated army veteran was well liked among the members of the fitness center and had work with non-profit groups working with disadvanteged youth throughout the Greater New Orleans area for several years, and he had appeared on the popular Sunday morning radio talk show Victims and Citizens Against Crime on WSMB.
