Hiker death statistics
editI've removed this as it's not supported by the source: "On average 3.4 hikers perish along the trail per year. [1]" The source, by the way, is also full of amusing fictions, particularly about bears. Not a reliable source :) Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 05:45, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
- Good call - that number seems unreliable. If interested, I did obtain some BC Parks incident data for all of BC including the West Coast Trail from 2017 based on a FOIA public records request. There were no incidents recorded that indicated fatalities that year. More info on the data analysis here:
