Disambig
editIs not this one supposed to be a disambig page? Pointing to West Bank and Gaza Strip? Palestinian territories can be many things, including areas administered by Palestinians, or areas occupied by Israelis.Greyshark09 (talk) 22:33, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- No, it should be a redirect. From Palestinian territories: "This article is about the West Bank and the Gaza Strip." "The Palestinian territories [...] are areas [...] comprising the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip"." The Palestinian territories article is about the "West Bank and the Gaza Strip" definition.
- Also to quote Nableezy "The [occupied] Palestinian territories (and the UNSC repeatedly has referred to the oPt, and multiple UN agencies refer to the oPt, see for example OCHA oPt) are the West Bank (in its entirety), including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. The area under control of the PNA is not that. The claim that the Pt term today is widely implemented not to the entire WB and GS, but specifically to the areas under PNA control is completely unsupported and easily refuted. See for example this, or this, or this. The UN uses the term all the time, the idea that it doesnt is pure fiction. So does most of the world, and so do an overwhelming number of sources. There is no basis for this request, none at all." Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 01:42, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- Then why "Palestinian Authority territory" redirected to "Palestinian territories"?Greyshark09 (talk) 18:50, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- Probably because the PNA is (from Palestinian National Authority) "the administrative organization, established to govern the West Bank and Gaza Strip, following the Oslo Accords.". RS and the Palestinian territories article itself takes precedence over one interpretation of some obscure redirect. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 20:13, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
