I have again archived a section of discussion that is going exactly nowhere. To both the WebTrends employee and the anonymous critic: Wikipedia is not a place to hash out your dispute. If you are seeking a specific outcome on this article, rather than entering into a discussion with an open mind, you are certain to be disappointed with the outcome.

The very first thing that must happen is we must establish some ground rules about how we're going to work together. As far as I'm concerned, the next person who makes an edit to this talk page that contains even the slightest hint of a personal attack will be blocked from editing swiftly and for a long time.

Specific suggestions about how to improve the text, in accordance with Wikipedia's policies and content guidelines, are welcome. -Pete (talk) 06:46, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Here here is a cite for "past controversy" http://www.wweek.com/story.php?story=7793 . I would also like to include the reference to bikeportland for cyclists' reaction to WebTrends' marketing campaign (per previous discussion) as follows:

This was seen by most in Portland's largest online cycling community as an effort by WebTrends to generate publicity at the expense of cyclists' safety.

I have read through the previous debate after having dropped out for a while. I have only this to say: the entire point of the section (and of Wikipedia) is to report on the nature of the controversy that inspired news coverage of the company. It is not to present arguments about the merits of a road tax. Please remember that in your discussions about what is appropriate. I personally hope we can unprotect the article post haste. Get rid of it?

How can I get rid of it (as user)? At the moment when visiting http://windowslivehelp.com/thread.aspx?postid=D4A24C46-4FCD-4D9D-80E8-51B2495B7ACB for example it reloads in a endless loop and makes the page unusable. Btw, shouldn't the owner/operator of the site mention it that it uses such kind of data-collection!? --Hfrmobile (talk) 18:34, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Just discovered on another machine that it occurs using Firefox 6.0.2 but does not occur under IE9. Seems to be a cookie-problem. --Hfrmobile (talk) 13:58, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
