As an industry professional I argue that web dev tools go beyond browser add-ons, whether external or built-in. A web dev tool could be defined as anything that helps develop, debug, analyze, perhaps patch a web document or app, and with that include scripts or online tools. Specialty sites like uitest.com (not linking it for it’s run by me) feature examples for such tools. j9t (talk) 16:03, 25 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Should Microsoft Edge be added [to see also]?

edit

If it includes development tools then I guess yes (I just do no know). Possibly yes, even if not, as probably it will get market share, but that isn't a given as it has gotten bad reviews.. comp.arch (talk) 00:49, 21 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Usage in internet culture

edit

Might be worth adding a section that expands on its misuse in social media, typically in order to falsify earnings or sensationalizing information, for the sake of clout or setting false pretenses for get-rich-quick schemes.

(Examples: IE-editing box office earnings for recent flop “Morbius (2022)”; IE-editing Shopify earnings and creating TikToks with modified metrics to attract money-hungry viewers, etc.) Z3rw3ll (talk) 10:27, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

The edits of "Morbius (2022)" were intended to be humerous, rather then to falsify earnings. 66.97.27.122 (talk) 13:27, 11 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
