The lead paragraph states: "Wardair Canada was one of Canada's few privately run pre-deregulation airlines...". Given that of the two main airlines at that time, one (CP/Canadian) was private, isn't it a bit of a stretch to say it was one of a few privately run airlines? Factually wrong statement in 'History' section edit

Have removed the following sentence from the article:

"Wardair also was one of the few carriers able to have their London flights transferred from Gatwick to Heathrow airports, which increased the value of the airline substantially and made them desirable to larger operators, leading to the takeover by Canadian Airlines in January 1990."

This statement is factually wrong because the London Air Traffic Distribution Rules that were in effect from 1978 until 1990 prevented Wardair from operating into Heathrow for the following two reasons:

1. Under the aforementioned UK Government policy all charter flights were banned from Heathrow (throughout most of its existence as well as throughout most of the period these traffic distribution rules were in force Wardair was predominantly a charter airline, as far as its operations to and from the UK were concerned).

2. Under this policy all international scheduled services operated by airlines that did not already use Heathrow on a regular, year-round scheduled basis prior to April 1, 1977 were automatically directed to use Gatwick instead for their London operations. (Wardair commenced its first scheduled service to London during the late 1980s.)
