War diaries or war logs?Edit

It would be useful to make clear in the article whether the definition of a war diary includes literary war accounts such as Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars, or if war diaries have to conform to some specific and strict standards of content. If literary war accounts are included, then a short mention of famous war accounts (e.g. Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars) would be an interesting addition to the article. The article is about the bureaucratic records kept by military units, as I think is made clear by the first paragraph. A 'war memoir' is something else again. Nick-D (talk) 05:50, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
