Waberi Mixed Day secondary school
editIt is small school located about four kilometers to the east of Wajir town next to Wajir airport. It was established on the 28th day of February 2007 with Khalif Maalim Abdi as the first student to be admitted. It all started as a boys' school but in 2010 due to the pressure from the community the girls were introduced citing good performance. Mr. Mohamed Sheikh Hassan the first head-teacher (2007- to date) has been credited for the immense work he has done to make Waberi one of the big schools in Wajir town.Some of the pioneer teachers are;Mr Mr Mudey as the first acting deputy head-teacher, Mr Ismail Hassan Kunow (HOD Humanities), Mr Mahamud Abdi (HOD Languages and Director of studies), Mr. Moi Charles (HOD Games and Mathematics), Mr Onyango Calvin Ondabu (HOD sciences) and Mr Abdi Mohamed Diriye (HOD Guidance and Counselling). The school is also known for its good sporting activities that it represented the entire North Eastern province in volley ball in the 2010 National games in Kisumu thanks to the team coach and physics teacher Mr Charles Moi. In KCSE 2010 exams the school emerged as the best overall in Wajir county beating giants like Wajir High which had a Y, Furaha Mixed secondary school Wajir Girls, Sabulney seconadry etc —Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.176.162.176 (talk) 13:04, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
