Arabic edit

I'm unsure with Arabic names, but are all these known by the personal name Wajid Ali? Or should this be a different category? Boleyn2 (talk) 17:51, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I work with Arabic names quite a bit, and they're generally very difficult to handle, along with other names that use non-Latin scripts. Each time I work with an Arabic (or Turkish, or Persian) name, I brace myself for having to make multiple redirects from a variety of spellings, because it's quite common for the reliable sources to use vastly different versions (and I do mean vastly). In short, when in doubt, it's best to be as liberal as possible about potential usage of these names. If there were scores of names on this disambig page, it might make sense to winnow things down, but for a relatively short list, there's no damage being caused by being liberal in our usage. The ultimate question is, "What is of the most use to our readers?" So it's better to err on the side of "too many", than "not enough". --Elonka 18:22, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
