New Name edit

Um... on WWE.com, where it has all the upcoming PPV dates, it doesn't say One Night Stand. It says Extreme Rules. Does this mean a name change?--68.44.58.118 (talk) 22:03, 26 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

How can WWE's OFFICIAL WEBSITE and another site that is used for citation three other times in the same article be considered unreliable? Someone please explain that to me.Wwehurricane1 (talk) 02:05, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

See WT:PW. SimonKSK 02:06, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

That doesn't answer my question. Explain to me in a way that makes sense how WWE's OFFICIAL WEBSITE and another site that is used in the SAME article is not reliable. Also, as mentioned on that page you linked to, the video that airs on WWE television has been changed to show the event as WWE Extreme Rules. To add to that, WWE's magazine publications (i.e. the calendar that is mention) are written three months before they are put on sale. THAT is an unreliable source. SO, to summarize, there are TWO reliable sources stating that the name has been changed and ZERO that can dispute it.Wwehurricane1 (talk) 02:13, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I didn't say that WWe was unreliable. They never said that One Night Stand is Extreme Rules. Again see WT:PW SimonKSK 02:15, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, they did. On the pay per view schedule on their website. Wwehurricane1 (talk) 02:21, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

No they did not. They changed a name that can be any PPV or a new PPV. SimonKSK 02:24, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

They specifically changed the One Night Stand name on both their website and in their WWE on Pay Per View video. All of the other pay per views are still in their same spots.Wwehurricane1 (talk) 02:28, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The current consensus is to wait until WWE formally announces the new PPV or name change to One Night Stand via their revamping of their ONS website when production for the event begins or until event details and ticket information is released.--TRUCO 503 02:29, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

THEY DID THAT ALREADY —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.17.125.176 (talk) 22:10, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

1)Sign your posts. 2)Don't shout as people will ignore you. 3)No they have not done that. TJ Spyke 22:12, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
I guess they were referring to the recently released information.--TRUCO 00:22, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Night of Extreme edit

Just went to http://www.wwe.com/schedules/events/eventdetail/?id=9433870 and the WWE has the PPV listed as Night of Extreme. Should the name of the PPV be changed? Gibsonj338 (talk) 00:10, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not yet, we don't know whether it follows the same lineage as WWE One Night Stand. But thanks for point that out.--TRUCO 00:14, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Huh? It doesn't say Night of Extreme anymore it says Extreme Rules SuperSilver901 20:15, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
They've changed it AGAIN? WWE needs to make up their damn mind about what they want to call the event. TJ Spyke 20:38, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Its officaly Extreme Rules, So Can someone change the name ASAP because it said it was offical.--Pookeo9 (talk) 21:38, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Someone said Night of Extreme was official yet it was changed. So we will wait for while until we officially know it is Extreme Rules SuperSilver901 21:50, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Pooke, just yesterday WWE had the same page say "Night of Extreme", not today it says "Extreme Rules". Who knows if it will change again. TJ Spyke 22:12, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Move to WWE Extreme Rules edit

This page should be moved to Extreme Rules (WWE Pay Per View) or WWE Extreme Rules, but is move protected. Some help please. Wwehurricane1 (talk) 01:55, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why? edit

I updated this page to reflect the name change (like WWE Night of Champions), but the edits were reverted. I guess this is the "discuss" part of the process. Wwehurricane1 (talk) 01:57, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

This years event is called Extreme Rules, that doesn't mean next years will be. Remember Vengeance: Night of Champions? We didn't move the page then because that was also the name of that years event. TJ Spyke 02:02, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I get it. I don't think Vengeance: Night of Champions is a good example because that was just a subtitle that year (like last year's One Night Stand: Extreme Rules), but I get what you're saying. Thanks for explaining. Wwehurricane1 (talk) 02:30, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok, so someone else can come along and make almost the exact same changes to the page that I tried to make and it's now suddenly ok? This place gives me a headache... Wwehurricane1 (talk) 22:43, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

WWE One Night StandWWE Extreme Rules — - The 2010 Extreme Rules event has just been announced by WWE, more or less confirming that the "One Night Stand" name has been phased out that "Extreme Rules" name is here to stay. The page has been move protected due to move wars a few months ago, but this should finally put this situation to rest. --  Θakster   20:55, 26 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose why move an event that has already happened under the name of the article to a name it's never used? 2009 and forward "Extreme Rules", before that at "One Night Stand" since that's the name history of it all.  MPJ-DK  (No Drama) Talk  06:11, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Support MPJ its standard format. The main page goes under "WWE [insert ppv name]" while each individual event goes under "[insert ppv name] ([insert ppv year])" When PPV's are renamed (like The Bash, Night of Champions, and Extreme Rules) and not replaced (like Unforgiven, No Mercy, and Cyber Sunday) we continue to follow the format by renaming the main page of the article. Due to the 2010 Extreme Rules event being confirmed, there's now a valid reason to move WWE Extreme Rules to Extreme Rules (2009) and WWE One Night Stand to WWE Extreme Rules. --UnquestionableTruth-- 08:26, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. it should be an obvious move an event article should be named after the current name its being promoted under. Afro Talkie Talk - Afkatk 23:40, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Support Due to it being the current name. Wwehurricane1 (talk) 04:17, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
