Talk:Vojvodina massacre

Latest comment: 17 years ago by PANONIAN in topic Massacre
Something about the causes should be added to this article later > "In January 1942, by the order of some disloyal officers (lieutenant-general Ferenc Feketehalmy-Czeidner, major-general József Grassy, colonel László Deák and gendarmarie-captain Márton Zöldy) numerous Serbian and Jewish civilians were murdered in the Bačka region of Vojvodina, and their corpses were thrown into the rivers Danube and Tisza." (from the article on Miklós Horthy)
I don't know if there's an article on this other massacre, but if there is, it'd be useful to link it from this one. --Adolar von Csobánka (Talk) 18:46, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Massacre

edit

You people please provide a proof that events in 1944-1945 could be described as "massacre". The only clear event that could be described as "Vojvodina massacre" is 1942 raid. PANONIAN (talk) 01:51, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Here is a definition of the term "massacre": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massacre Quote: "The word massacre has a number of meanings, but most commonly refers to individual events". Killings in 1944-1945 were not individual event, thus cannot be described with this word. PANONIAN (talk) 02:23, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Absolutely perfect definition of the Killings in 1944-1945. --195.56.12.121 15:50, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, it is not. It was not an individual event, but killings in various places in various times. PANONIAN (talk) 20:49, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Panonian's argument that the killings in Bačka is mostly referred in the plural form (as in Hungarian ["vérengzések"] seems "more or less" valid so it may be a better idea to create a new redirect @ Vojvodina massacres than repeatedly reverting this one. Or you could perhaps ask a native speaker if ya don't agree with that. --Adolar von Csobánka (Talk) 19:46, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps we should simply delete this redirect because it is in fact totally false. There in fact never was such event which was named "Vojvodina massacre", thus redirect should be deleted. It is not placed in any article and therefore it has no any use at all. Currently, it only serve to Vince and his sockpuppets as a playground. PANONIAN (talk) 20:04, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
