Theory of Slavic settlers in vast areas of Central Europe had been developed and established by 19th century nationalists within Panslavistic movement and later on gained broad reception within "Marxist-Leninist scientific communnism". Potential benefit before and during Cold War had been to ideologically back the legitimacy of a Soviet invasion in central Europe.
