Cleanup Tags 2006

edit

To the anonymous editor who keeps removing the cleanup (etc) tags...

These tags are placed in your article to make it a better article. They get the article linked to various Wikipedia improvement projects, where volunteers look for ways to improve articles. Deleting these tags not only keeps this article from becoming better, but it is a bit futile, as there are automated programs that look at Wikipedia articles and place these tags in articles that need them.

If you'd like to see these tags permanently gone from this article, the best way would be to help eliminate the need for them. If you click on "help" on the left side of this window, and then click on "resources and lists", you'll find lots of help for ways to improve this article. Try finding some categories this article could go in, or finding other articles that should be linking to this one and adding the links.

The other big issue for this article is the tone, which is much more advertising than encyclopedic. A number of wikipedia editors take a dim view of this kind of tone, and will propose that an article be deleted when they see it. You can help not only eliminate this kind of proposal, but make this into a better article, by helping to rewrite the article using a more encyclopedic tone, while at the same time adding more details to let the world know exactly why this group is notable beyond its local area.

In short, the tags that get placed in this article are to help make this a better, more widely read article. Please help us do that! Thanks tons. Kathy A. 13:35, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! To any and all interested: I've proposed a WikiProject dedicated to a cappella. This would be a group of editors interested in improving the quality of articles related to a cappella. If you're passionate about a cappella—ranging from the Pentatonix to groups like Voces8, or perhaps pop culture representations like Pitch Perfect and The Sing-Off—please check out the proposal and share your thoughts!

Here's a link to the proposal for WikiProject A Cappella.

If you could see yourself contributing to an article related to a cappella (like this one), please consider joining!

The members section is extremely well-developed. I think similar comprehensiveness would be nice for the albums section where each album would have the songs listed, their keys, their composer/arranger etc.
