Spurious info about current use removed edit
I have removed the text inserted by Egil in this edit about the use of the term Viken having been revitalized in recent time. I don't believe this is the case (I live in Oslo). Anyway, if someone feels it to be so, this should be cited with a reliable source. __meco 07:39, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Víkin edit
Actually, the old norse name is Víkin. Viken is the modern bokmål and Swedish form of the area. --Oddeivind (talk) 10:40, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
Viken? edit
I feel that the name is unrepresentative of the district, as the Norwegian word vik is a feminine noun, and is in definite form vika. The term Viken was made up by the historian Peter Andreas Munch, and we should change the name of the article.–– ♫ Ellie♫ 07:49, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
