Best known depiction…
editI realise that it is qualified by “perhaps”, but the assertion of the WS Maughm short-story being the best know depiction of a CoE verger smacks of original reasearch. For example, the character of the Verger Mr. Henry Yeatman, as played by Edward Sinclair on the BBC’s “Dad’s Army”, which continues to be shown to this day to audiences of millions, and has been shown around the world, could just as easily be said to form a picture of a verger in popular culture, yet he doesn’t even merit a mention. I’m not saying he is, just suggesting that it would impossible ever to measure such a status in an encylopædic fashion. Jock123 (talk) 14:56, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
The pics
editI appreciate the posting of the pics, because they are intended to help us visualize the verger and staff, but they are too small. Can we get a larger set please? We don't have them where I live, so I can't do it myself. 155.213.224.59 (talk) 19:13, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
