Talk:Veandercross

I was starting to give the article a tidy up, and noticed something that only racing afficiandos might know the answer to.

We say Veandercross won his first three races including two listed events. OK, no probs, because the unlisted event is Foxton.

We then say he ran second in the Wanganui Guineas to the front running Lodore Lady before winning the Okawa Guineas at Hastings. OK.

But, we then don't include his next start, at Otaki. Is that an oversight, or deliberate because it was unlisted? (In which case it is inconsistent with already having mentioned his second race which was also unlisted).

We then say he was narrowly defeated twice at Trentham, in the Wellington Guineas trial (½ length) and the Wellington Guineas (by a head to Solvit). Is the trial unlisted? If so, is it consistent to record it here but not the Otaki race? The Racing Victoria databank does not mention the Wellington Guineas trial, so should we? I'm not sure what is intended, so I stopped my tweaking and hope someone can give me a headsup over this. Moriori (talk) 03:59, 17 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I did not add the original data and cannot confirm what was intended, however I could not locate anything on the Wellington Guineas trial and it would seem that it should probably not be included?Cgoodwin (talk) 04:16, 17 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, the first was general comment regarding his first three races, the unlisted one wasn't the point, more that two of the races were listed. In regards to the Otaki race, deliberate as to its low standing. The Wellington Guineas trial is different to the Otaki and Foxton races, as its an important lead up to the Wellington race.

Great tweaking and thanks. Pushbutton auto (talk) 05:27, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
