Depth
editHow deep is the Varne Bank? Shallow according to this: http://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2262155 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Varnebank (talk • contribs) 22:32, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- On one nautical chart the shallowest point is entered as "4". But I don't know if this is metres, or feet or fathoms or whatever. The main shipping routes seem to be between "20" and "55" deep in this area. --BjKa (talk) 10:19, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
Coordinates
editWhen I found the page, it said no more than <!-- BAD coordinates {{coord|51|1|286|N|1|23|879|E|display=title}} -->
So I used this map in conjunction with the satellite view of Google Maps to come up with the coordinates of 51°0′0″N 1°22′30″E.
NB: According to the nautical chart the "Varne" lightship is not sitting on the sandbank, but slightly northeast of it.
