Per http://www.usvariety.org/about.html the charity in the US alone is a multi-million dollar organisation with 27 chapters in 19 states and is established worldwide. Hardly NN. I'm adding detail to the article now. Tonywalton  | Talk 08:56, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

trivia section: I'm changing the assertion that its the longest running locally produced telethon in the world, as the wiki entry for telethons give at least two others that have run much longer.

Fair use rationale for Image:Variety Charity logo.gif edit

Image:Variety Charity logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Article needs to include the Variety Club Awards edit

Variety Club Awards have been an important part of show-business recognition awards, for outstanding performances in various media, for many decades. They need to be mentioned in this article. Softlavender (talk) 20:18, 4 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

the state of this page edit

if anyone besides me is interested in this page, perhaps we can discuss what to do with it. the organization is, i think, actually quite notable, and needs an article. however, this article was in abysmal shape before i started editing, and is still pretty unsatisfactory to me. i don't want to do any more surgery on it, though, without asking for some comments. please let me know what you think. meanwhile, i'm going to look for more sources and try to replace the promotionalism with some actual encyclopedic material. — alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 00:45, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
