Focus on discrete and audio? edit

I get the impression that this page focuses mostly on discrete applications and designs, and even more so on those aimed at audio and other low frequency applications. No mention of the use of VGAs in AGC loops for communications systems, gilbert cells or other manners of variable gain amplification.

I suggest a quite thorough clean-up of this page. There are hundreds of applications for variable gain amplification, and if anything, the ones listed here are all focused on one narrow application (looking at external links, it seems to be written by someone with a background in audio synthesizers). As I myself worked on VGAs in an R&D context very recently, I think it's not appropriate for me to make significant contributions as my views might be skewed to the results and findings of my work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheUnnamedNewbie (talkcontribs) 15:46, 17 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
