Criticism

This is the second article I've ever made, and the first from scratch, so if you have any constructive criticism, please leave it on my talk page. Bahamut0013 11:51, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Nukes?

Think it's worth mentioning that Marines have no role in the production or use of nuclear ordnance? I don't think there are even any gravity bombs left in the US arsenal that a Marine Aircraft can carry. bahamut0013 21:24, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

  • It is probably worth a mention in the History section somehow linked in with the true focus of CAS. There were 1 or 2 FW squadrons that did train to deliver nuKes in the 50s and 60s. I'll have to do some digging to remember which ones they were. Don't know if those nukes were ever stored on MCASs though.--Looper5920 (talk) 21:42, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
VMFA(AW)-225 was who I was thinking about.--Looper5920 (talk) 21:45, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
VMA-214 is another and they were the first to be certified for nuke delivery.--Looper5920 (talk) 06:38, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, I added a sentance, but without any references (I couldn't find anything), I left it very vague. bahamut0013 17:21, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Wouldn't a "No Nukes" section go under the main USMC article as they don't have nuclear shells for their land forces either. However there are a bunch of armed forces in the world that don't have nukes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hcobb (talkcontribs) 19:07, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

VMA-231‎

I added the requested date ref to VMA-231‎ and found a rather big problem with that article... Hcobb (talk) 19:01, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

If you are referring to the ref, GlobalSecurity.org cannot reasonably copyright material that they copied from a public domain source, in this case, the squadron's website. In any case, if we ref the PD, then we can ignore whatever claims that GS makes as irrelevant anyway. No problem. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 05:21, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

United States Naval Aviation

We currently do not have an article covering United States Naval Aviation. The main WP articles currently covering USN aviation are Naval Air Systems Command and United States Naval Aviator, but thes do not (and should not) cover history, organization, etc. As far as I can tell, there is no specific organization within the USN called "Naval Aviation", but rather it seems to be a common umbrella term for the USN's aviation assets. As such, United States naval aviation might be a better title for an article that paralles this one in covering the USN aviation. I'm currently working on a future article at User:BilCat/Sandbox/United States Naval Aviation in my userspace. If you have any specific commentsz or suggestion for the direction and scope of such an article, you may comment at User talk:BilCat/Sandbox/United States Naval Aviation. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 06:14, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Birthplace of Marine Corps Aviation

Much in the same way Kitty Hawk was the location of "first flight" for the Wright Bros, Marblehead, MA was the location of "first flight" for Alfred Cunningham and Marine Corps Aviation. http://www.flymcaa.org/getattachment/MCAA-Publications/YellowSheetWinter2012Cunningham.pdf.aspx — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.250.56.88 (talk) 16:20, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
