Talk:United States Carbon Cap-and-Trade Program

Merge?

edit

Shouldn't this article be here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emissions_trading#North_America
I rather think the article should be merged to the location indicated below, since that article talks about an initiative currently before Congress that is based on "Cap and Trade," and will set policy if it passes the U.S. Senate (it recently passed the U.S. House of Representatives) and is subsequently signed into Law by the President:

Perhaps we should also replace the current content with a redirector to the above article? (Adams kevin (talk) 04:49, 27 June 2009 (UTC))Reply
It should continue here, fully available and visable as a topic, not obscured in another topic. Unfortunately, it is a thinly disguised tax proposal, and if anything, it should move to that area since the result of envisioned legislation results in a tax on all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.253.141.201 (talk) 08:20, 29 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
yes this is clearly a taxation plan. Ouedbirdwatcher (talk) 15:01, 24 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

No. The articles should be kept separate since it is increasingly likely that the 'cap and trade' element of the Waxman - markey bill will be dropped. Having a stand alone article for US cap and trade activities would allow the current regional programs to have their article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.10.105.233 (talk) 00:05, 29 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merging this article into American Clean Energy and Security Act

edit

There is nothing in this article which has not been included or merged into American Clean Energy and Security Act. --Greenmaven (talk) 12:00, 23 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
