Image copyright problem with Image:Co-oplogo.png edit

The image Image:Co-oplogo.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Image no longer used. Image:Unitedlogo2.jpg has a fair use rationale. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 07:09, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lets fill out the United Co-operatives article, and put Normid in context, by copying and pasting (and redirecting) from one to the other. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 07:12, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would go with that. Done properly, I think merging the articles would be a good idea Jatos (talk) 18:32, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Citings edit

somebody has put citation needed to the statement that cooperative and united coops branding should be confused because they are slightly different. I have to say from existing citations and links, you can clearly see they are slightly different but can still get confused. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jatos (talkcontribs) 18:42, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree.
From what I can see from the Internet Archive of United's site, food stores used a white on blue version of the 1993 Co-op cloverleaf, as did Group food stores. I don't think it is original research to replace the sentence in question with something like:
From the 1990s, United's visual identity was based on the Co-operative Wholesale Society's 1993 cloverleaf 'Co-op' logo.
The photos of United food stores suggest that United fascias had a common corporate style, that can be distinguished from other co-ops on close inspection. This was presumably important to shopfitters and leadership (and to members in areas where United geographically overlapped other co-operatives) I (personally) cannot think of anything truly encyclopedic to say about the fascias. (My brief search did not show me any pictures of pharmacies).

Co-Op or Co-op edit

Surely the name would be shortened to United Co-op, rather than United Co-Op? MikeJamesShaw (talk) 18:25, 22 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
