WTF does this mean???

"Bertie's "inconvenient" admirers are erased, with the result that Bertie is converted to a person whose identity is socially acceptable."

I think what it means is that whomever wrote the 'plot' section--which really doesn't deal one byte with the plot, when you come down to it--wants us to ignore everything except the likely non-present homoerotic subtext.
