Other number ones

edit

Freddy Guarin (talk) 19:45, 16 April 2008 (UTC) 1990-2006 number-ones are still out of sightReply

The only way we could get these if someone had a copy of the music weeks from the time and were willing to put them up. I got the Dance ones from someone called Manic Kangaroo who posts on www.chcmedia.com Technohead1980 (talk) 12:50, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Active?

edit

I checked out the OCC website and can't find a link to the chart anymore. Are they still compiling it? --SteelersFanUK06 ReplyOnMine! 00:14, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The BBC still publish a chart every week, which is apparently compiled by the OCC ([1]).--Michig (talk) 07:41, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Quirks

edit

Is it worth mentioning some of the quirks of the various charts - for example the fact that in the latter half of the 1980s Stock Aitken and Waterman chart-topping bubblegum pop acts used to dominate the NME indie charts because they were released via indie label Pete Waterman Ltd (PWL), no doubt much to the chagrin of many indie music fans! 92.29.118.28 (talk) 21:00, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • I don't think that was a quirk as such; this very article describes the criteria for inclusion at the time being that the record label should not be distributed by one of the 'big four' and the actual musical style of the artist did not matter. PWL qualified according to the rules, they were distributed by Pinnacle (IIRC), therefore they counted in the independent chart. It's distinct from the musical genre now called 'indie rock' whose artists may or may not be signed to a major. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.0.144.139 (talk) 18:30, 3 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Weekly Confusion

edit

Are Record Week and Music Week the same magazines? I can not find anything about the first one.--79.240.235.96 (talk) 21:56, 10 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why the move?

edit

I don't understand why this was moved to such an unwieldy title which is also never what it was actually called. I suggest we move it back. --Michig (talk) 07:20, 25 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

The fact that The BBC were also publishing the charts is not included
