Fighting Maroons and Blue Eagles edit

We need to make changes to the templates used so that UP and Ateneo will correctly use the Fighting Maroons and Blue Eagles designations. Help is also needed in the templates for links to the UP WVT's article. Aeron Valderrama (talk) 03:59, 11 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

These are recent changes, and supposedly the old nicknames should be used for the older tournaments.
Also, this also applies to "Green Spikers" and "Lady Spikers" to DLSU's teams. Howard the Duck (talk) 16:11, 15 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Qualification entries edit

As we've using Module:Sports table, we've been phasing out old practices of:

  • Using brackets that denote playoffs for any of the top 4 positions,
    • All recent articles now must only have four teams in playoff brackets.
  • A separate color for ad hoc fourth seed playoff games
    • These are now in the footnotes in the elimination round table.
  • Standardized the colors as seen in Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/League season (WP:FOOTY, but applies to leagues of other sports).
    • These standardized the elimination round tables to green1-green2 for regular Final Four and green1-blue1-yellow1 for stepladder Final Four.
  • Placed "seeding playoffs" after the "Bracket" section.
    • These emphasizes the UAAP and media view that there are only 4 teams in the Final FOUR playoffs proper. Even Boom Gonzalez emphasized this some years back.
  • "First round" and "semifinals" sections during stepladder format
    • Previous convention was confusing at best and deemphasized the "Final FOUR" even in the stepladder format. Stepladder games renamed into as "Stepladder semifinals" split into two sections.

Check out the basketball and football articles as these have been applied correctly (such as UAAP Season 70 men's basketball tournament for a team with a 14-0 record and 2 teams tied for #4 and NCAA Season 93 basketball tournaments for 3 teams tied from 4th to 6th)... I know this is volleyball, and its fans insist on doing their own way, but their articles stick out like sore thumb for tables upon tables of stats. Even the football articles complied (they can't complain if season articles like the Premier League's are doing it right). Howard the Duck (talk) 17:40, 15 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
