strange routing of US 50 north of Annapolis - probably a typo, as it would have to go pretty far north to cross the Severn River - [1] basically confirms it's a typo --SPUI (T - C) 00:53, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Definitly a mistake:
  • It also shows MD 2 along US 50 to Sandy Point
  • I've always been under the impression that US 50 went up MD 2 from the Naval Academy to former 404, considering that's the present-day routing of MD 450.
  • I've never heard anything about US 50 being routed along Ritchie Highway, nor MD 2 being routed across the bay. Never heard of any plans to do so eiter.

Proposed merge

edit

I vote yes, it's unsigned and completely merged with 50. Anyone else?-Jeff (talk) 02:06, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

38B

edit

Just to explain my edit, I live on Kent Island and see that exit all the time. The sign for it just says "Services" with some icons underneath. There used to be an exit nearby that went to MD 18 but it was removed when that section of 18 was moved. Present-day exit 38B does not provide direct access to 18.-Jeff (talk) 05:30, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Saw it again today, the icons are for gas and food.-Jeff (talk) 06:17, 11 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Maryland Route 378

edit

US 50 doesn't end at MD 528, it ends at MD 378. I checked the 2005 HLR for Worcester County and the route is clearly listed as ending at MD 378 Baltimore Avenue. The confusion here is that MD 378 is one-way northbound only, while MD 528 is one-way southbound only at the southern end of Ocean City, and that as a result, the eastbound side of US 50 extends past its westbound side.

Still, I feel that the routebox should state that US 50 ends at MD 378. I don't dispute that it begins at MD 528, though. -TheOneKEA

Errors for Talbot County, History/Dualization Sections

edit

Talbot County: US 50 does not "pass directly through the town" of Easton. It passes to the east of downtown Easton. Downtown Easton is served by the old road, MD 662/Washington St. The commercial strip along US 50 developed after the new highway was built.

History/Dualization of US 50: the section of US 50 between is four lanes but it is NOT an "expressway". Business US 50 and Business US 13 have a grade-separated intersection in downtown Salisbury but that is it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.73.122.61 (talk) 02:37, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merger with Interstate 595 (Maryland)

edit

I think it's a little redundant to have an article for one route that is entirely concurrent with another single route, especially if the former route is unsigned. Needforspeed888 (talk) 20:48, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Support - I agree that I-595 should be merged into this article since all of I-595 is an unsigned designation for part of the US 50 freeway. Dough4872 20:51, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - I am fine with that. --WashuOtaku (talk) 21:36, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - Sound like a good idea. -- Pemilligan (talk) 22:26, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Map merge?

edit

The odd orphaned chunk of US50 in western Maryland would make massively more sense with more context. Any reason not to just merge MD, DC, and VA US 50 maps and just color code each segment? (1, 2 + whatever the DC link is.)71.163.29.166 (talk) 16:34, 7 November 2022 (UTC) (User:Mrzaius)Reply
