I don't think it can show notability. It's an undergraduate student journal, after all, and almost none of these are of any significance. What you will need is good third-party sources for importance. Awards within the university are not relevant to notability. If you have any, put them in. I want to include as many articles in WP about journals as makes any sense, but i do not think this one really fits in an encyclopedia.

I agree that it is likely that the journal cannot meet the stringent factors associated with most academic journals including having an impact factor or a large academic circulation. The journal papers have, however, been cited as noted in exterior academic sources (see Tufts Daily reference), but I cannot find outside references to this beyond this (at this time). The entire TuftScope archive is not accessible online at this time as well, their website is evidently being restructured. As such, it may be useful to wait to see what the older articles included were. I, however, believe that this journal represents a notable and important addition regarding undergraduate publications that are attempting to employ an academic peer-review method. If you, however, believe that this journal should not be part of the WikiProject Academic Journals then I believe that if there is a consensus, that it can be removed (though I did not add it to the project-another editor did). Perhaps, an undergraduate academic journal project is in order? The Tufts student journal Hemispheres, has for example been publishing quality work on International Relations since 1976 [1] and is distributed across libraries in the country, along with being a journal for longer than some of today's academic journals. There should be a valid forum for these publications as well.

The question is whether this journal is notable. If you want to try an article on Hemispheres, try one. A long period of publication and presence in many libraries are elements that might indicate some degree of notability. (Even for an open access journal, libraries catalog the notable ones,but no library in the US seems to have cataloged this one, not even its own university.) All I see in the student newspaper is that it was listed in one comprehensive bibliography. As it is not included in any of the usual indexes, do you know of any other places where it has been cited? The paper editions are no longer archived, but I was able to find that the University Digital Library did archive the journal at http://dl.tufts.edu/ (search: tuftscope). However, I must concede that I am unable to find additional citations to outside sources, especially since most references in the previous issues are to a now defunct web address. While this journal may not necessarily fit the profile an academic journal, I believe that it is likely covered under the scope of the wiki-universities project - which includes many major campus publications for universities. I do not believe that this journal belongs under the WikiProject: Academic Journals and feel that this title in particular should be removed. But as an undergraduate publication I think that this journal has validity in its association with Tufts. Guildsman (talk) 22:10, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Understandable, but since all of the links from the Tufts University media/publications are now gone, this article would the only WP source of information of TuftScope.Guildsman (talk) 19:09, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
