Irish stuff

edit

Could people please stop romantically blending who the Tuatha'an are with Irish cultures? The Tuatha'an and the Pavees have very little in common, other than the fact that they are itinerant people. The Pavees were not unique in being tinkers. They are not unique in singing around camp fires. It is more accurate to say that the Tuatha'an are based on a cultural homogenisation of itinerant peoples from around the world.

Secondly, "Tuatha'an" and "Tuatha de Dannan", I mean really. There's no connection between the two. One means something akin to "The People/Community/Land" or "The Second People/Community/Land badly" badly translated into Irish using an Irish idiosyncratic word like "Tuatha". Tuatha de Dannan means "The People/Community/Land of Annan".

Just because they both have the same word at the start doesn't mean one came from the other, it's a bit ignorant to assume they do, in fact, much like claiming that "The Wheel of Time" gets its name from "The Wheel of Fortune" because they both have the word wheel in it.
