Sources? edit

Anyone have access to the single source found in the article? I can't seem to access it. If so, does it say anything about a local tradition regarding a "Trout Lake Monster"? I am finding absolutely no reliable sources on this. :bloodofox: (talk) 01:08, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

I haven't found any other reliable sourcing either, and a single local news item isn't going to meet GNG. Searches for "Trout Lake Monster" returned a few references to "The Ugly One" [1][2] which may be an authentic Indigenous myth, however it's in a different location 700 miles away. –dlthewave 20:28, 22 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Trout Lake vs Big Trout Lake edit

LuckyLouie This article is about a supposed monster near Trout Lake (Ontario). You added content that refers to Kitchenuhmaykoosib which is located on Big Trout Lake, an entirely different part of the province. –dlthewave 22:57, 22 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure which Trout Lake is the "other" one, but if we have a few good RS's that all support the topic of a "Trout Lake Monster" in Canada, shouldn't we (with appropriate copyediting) make it the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC? - LuckyLouie (talk) 23:00, 22 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
I restored your version. Not sure if this one meets GNG either, but between the two it would be a primary topic. I did quite a bit of canoeing in Minnesota and Ontario when I was younger, came across many Trout Lakes but no Trout Lake Monsters. –dlthewave 23:32, 22 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
Good move. Can you confirm the categories are accurate for the Trout Lake in the article? Thanks and best regards, - LuckyLouie (talk) 23:38, 22 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
