Talk:Tributaries of the River Thames

Medway edit

Why is the River Medway not included as a tributary? Indeed there is nothing between the Mardyke (which is in the wrong place, after the Darent) and the Thames Estuary. Keithbowden (talk) 11:28, 14 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

The Thames conventionally ends at the London Stone at Yantlet Creek which is before the Medway and is used in all measurements of the length of the river. This dates from before the heyday of the Thames Conservancy; these days the remit of the Port of London Authority stretches as far as the end of the estuary (which is how the Shannon is measured). I agree about Mardyke. Chris55 (talk) 13:16, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Ebbsfleet edit

Shouldn't the Ebbsfleet River be at the top of the list, which joins the Thames exactly opposite Tilbury at 51.4503N, 0.3296E? It shows up well on Wikimedia Maps on Geohack or Open Street Map. Not sure how you would work out its catchment area. Cheers, >MinorProphet (talk) 12:20, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
