Speed Delete

Trying to get something deleted less then 48 hours after it has been created strikes me as punitive. Give them some time to try and improve the article. The previous AFD was many months ago. For all we know the subject material now meets the standards. Alyeska 14:18, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Deletion

There is a discussion underway right now at the BBS itself about potential reliable sources of which some members are aware. I realize that message board deletion discussions are nobody's favorite part of Wikipedia, but I would ask that we all assume good faith and wait to see what is available. I myself am presently unconvinced that the article can meet the web notability guideline, but I see no harm in waiting a few days (at most) to see what develops.

Also, it may be worth noting that the BBS is distributed by UGO, though this may well fall under the "trivial distribution" aspect of WP:WEB. Brendan Moody 19:49, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion

It has been requested that this article be Speedy Deleted. Having read over this article, and the contributions made to date to this, I have declined this for the present.

History

In December 2002, a banned troll crashed the database by creating thousands of blank accounts. Unfortunately, the database was unrecoverable, and Sparborth had to restore the database from an old backup created in September 2002. This meant a loss of four months' worth of posts and user accounts. The board was also upgraded to a newer version of UBB.threads, complete with a new layout ("Big Gray"), however, the server had continual issues with the new version of the software. The board was switched to vBulletin, over the period February 23 through February 24, 2008 and then to XenForo on January 10 2016.
