Post-operative challenges & complications edit

(This is a proposed modification to the "post operative challenges" section on the main article. Accompanying UBM image showing communication between cilliary processes and intracorneal bleb to follow, pending permission from consultant surgeon)

A very rarely observed post-operative complication is the formation of an intrastromal corneal bleb, where the lamellar structure of the corneal stroma was dissected by aqueous pressure via the trabeculectomy channel. This, in turn, caused the trabeculectomy channel to drain into the corneal stroma rather than the sub-conjunctival space with an accompanying degradation in corneal transparency. This complication was successfully treated by reducing intraocular aqueous pressure with orally administered acetazolamide together with an injection of autologous serum at the trabeculectomy site.[1]

Email permission received from consultant ophthalmologist to use UBM image (no copyright is asserted and he'd already given me the images years ago but it's polite to ask). I've forwarded his email to the OTRS team seeking approval of the image, which has now been uploaded to commons. Will await result of this request before updating the main article...
