Table styling—adding colours has, IMO, gone too far now

The elimination table has always—by nature—been colourful, but the other tables in the article had been Wikipedia standard colours. Not any more.

The brown borders and gold backgrounds may be pretty, although that's an in-the-eye-of-the-beholder type thing. To the detractors, at best they're gawdy and obnoxious, and at worst their detrimental to them being able to read and comprehend the table.

While I agree with some use of colour, such as the use of shaded cells in the elimination table to supplement the text in the box for easy scanning, and the use of an accent-colour line as a divider between episodes in a list thereof, with each season a different colour, this is just too much. I also think the shaded backgrounds may start to run afoul of WP:COLOR.

Rather than just slap the {{Overcoloured}} template on the article, I'm opening discussion here. What benefit to the reader is gained by the gold/brown accent colours being used in all the tables of the article? —C.Fred (talk) 20:37, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

{{editsemiprotected}} Hello Episode 10 aired in Australia on August 10th. I can view it on www.abc.net.au/iview but I don't know if that's accessible in other parts of the world. The contestants get pushed out of the plane into the ocean. They have to swim to a boat for each team, and then have a race to land. They're also told that if they bring some form of seafood with them they'll get a bonus. Two teams have to row - because DJ is the only member of his team left, he gets an outboard motor. Heather tries to help DJ so he will form an alliance with her team and beat Alejandro's team. DJ tries to avoid singing in order to be eliminated, but Heather tricks him and he sings anyway. When they arrive at the rock the rest of Heather's team gets distracted because they see a rock formation that looks like Duncan. Owen drinks a jug of vinegar in the chugging competition, and Heather again tricks DJ into drinking his jug. Her team still hasn't arrived. In part 3, DJ is in the lead and is given a fish to smooch in order to win. Tyler is nominated to kiss the fish for his team. Heather shows DJ an Egyptian symbol on his fish and tells him that if he kisses it the curse will be broken. Alejandro then backs her up. Tyler pretends his fish is Lindsay, and they both kiss their fish and it's a tie. Chowder is the reward, but Heather has put Owen's old socks in it. Also turns out Alejandro drew the symbols on the fish to keep DJ in the game. Title: "New Kids on the Rock" Song - a sea shanty Winners: Team Victory & Team Chris Losers: Team Amazon Eliminated: It was a reward challenge.

Episodes 10 and 11?

I am really confused. These episodes have not aired in the US yet, but there is still episode information on them. Even if some IPs claim that they aired in their country already, how can we be sure it is true unless it airs in the US? Well yeah, because if we weren't aloud to put the information up before the episode aired in the United States, even after airing in Australia, then by that logic, we wouldn't be aloud to put the information up before the episodes aired in Canada, even though it aired in the United States and Australia, because it's a Canadian made show. Lindsay wasn't voted off

In the elimination table, it has Lindsay as the regular out, which is that the contestant was voted off but she wasn't necessarily voted off, she lost a elimination challenge which got her kicked off the show.

I thought that at first as well but technically Chris, Heather, and Owen voted her off because they kind of voted for DJ to stay. But yeah i think your point is much better...i mean this was how she got eliminated in TDI by losing the challenge so we can use the same color as then which was

Revenge on Duncan and Gwen

Didn't Trent ever team up with Courtney and Alejandro to get revenge on Duncan and Gwen? I know Trent was hurt at Gwen dating Duncan. Plus, I don't remember Trent accepting Duncan and Gwen as a couple, as hinted in the first TDWT Aftermath where he called that missing contestant an idiot. I don't think this ever happened. I have not seen TDWT's Aftermaths yet, but I do know that Trent spent all his time in the season in the Aftermath studio, and Alejandro was in the game up until the finale. They can't possibly make an alliance if those two were in different places. Plus, Alejandro agreeing doesn't make any sense; he only wants to manipulate the contestants to win the game, not try to get "revenge" on anyone. Eliminations on Episode Table

I've had a problem with a user with a changing IP that keeps adding eliminations on the episode tables several times. A few months ago we all agreed that eliminations were to no longer be added on these articles but this user just keeps adding them and as soon as I remove them, the user adds them back. I don't want to remove the eliminations again since I don't want to get into an edit war, so I'm asking if anyone reading this can remove those eliminations since I can't do it myself without being banned since I don't want to pass 3 reverts.  Giggett (talk) 03:07, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
