Khai Dinh Royal
editTomb of Khai Dinh is located in Chau Chu Mountain of Hue City. It was built for Nguyen Emperor Khai Dinh. It takes 11 years to complete tomb from 1920 to 1931. Khai Dinh tomb is constructed largely of reinforced concrete and it has western influences. The structure of Khai Dinh tomb is a rectangle with 127 steps, leaning against the mountain. Entering the tomb area,you should climb 37 steps whose railings have been carved in the shape of dragons. To access the next part of Khai Dinh tomb, we must to climb 29 further steps, this is one of the most beautiful points of the visit, the courtyard of ceremonies with stone statues. On both sides of the courtyard, two rows of statues are facing toward the court center. There are six couples of bodyguard soldiers. These statues are made of stone. The last part of the complex Khai Dinh is the Thien Dinh palace where consists many connecting rooms. The walls are decorated with porcelain designs elaborate glass. The floor is covered with flowers bricks and the ceiling is decorated with nine dragons among clouds. There is the main hall where contains a bronze statues and steles of the King.
