Noticeboard discussion
FYI, I've opened a discussion at the reliable sources noticeboard regarding this content. I don't think that we should be using a politician's own tweets as the basis for our articles. Politicians make thousands of tweets--why are these particular ones featured? Unless they are covered elsewhere in a reliable and independent source, I see no reason to include them here. The way they are included here is also problematic. For example, "O'Halleran has criticized the Trump Administration's lack of federal response to the Coronavirus." The citation for that content is a tweet of O'Halleran's "This administration isn't listening to public health experts. Until we have a vaccine, this virus is not going to fade away. It is deadly, & we know that carriers are often asymptomatic & can spread this virus easily. This must be taken seriously." We are putting in wikivoice that the Trump administration had a "lack of federal response." That's not even in the tweet, and even if it were, that is a politician's personal opinion, not content from an independent source. We wouldn't build Donald Trump's article off of a bunch of tweets that he made, so why should we do it here? Marquardtika (talk) 18:30, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
