The following discussion relates to when this article was on VfD, which it no longer is

  • Time Dollars time-based currency
    • Delete - advertisement. If removed, its mention should be edited out on List of economics topics as well. Ed Cormany 03:07, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • Keep. One of a number of barter/trade economic systems. And the article doesn't sound too advertorial, IMHO. -- Finlay McWalter 03:12, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • I'm not sure because I'm not sure this is verifiably used as a barter/trade system. Daniel Quinlan 03:26, Nov 12, 2003 (UTC)
      • I remember listening to a radio show about alternate currencies and stuff, and I'm positive they mentioned Time Dollars (and in a way that didn't make it seem at the time to be a commercial product). A brief google for the expression seems to show that it's in common currency (sic) in a largely generic sense. [1] -- Finlay McWalter 03:54, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
        • This specific term seems very connected to one person which gives me a lot of pause. If the article was about "time bartering" (probably not the right term, just an example) or some more common generic concept, I'd vote to "keep" in a second. Daniel Quinlan 04:07, Nov 12, 2003 (UTC)
          • If it survives VfD, it should go to cleanup (breathless-POV, copyedit) -- Finlay McWalter 05:03, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • Keep, somewhere. This one does seem like a fairly well known time bartering system and if so it would merit its own article. I suppose that means that we may need a page on time barter systems with this as one of the systems it links to. JamesDay 08:27, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • Keep. Unless there is already an article on Time Banks/Time Banking then it should be a redirect. Well known bartering system - similar to LETS but using time as the unit. 193.131.186.150 12:51, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
      • We already have a couple, linked off Local currency. If kept, logically this would be another case. -- Finlay McWalter 13:22, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
      • Keep and link to Local currency. Time Dollars is a well known and well established form of alternative economics, well desrving of a wiki article. Should be removed from VFD forthwith IMHO quercus robur 19:53, 13 Nov 2003 (UTC)
      • Keep, though it may need cleaning up for POV and/or self-promotion. Alternative money systems are theoretically interesting and links are likely to grow. seglea 22:42, 13 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • Keep. Interesting. Martin 18:56, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • Keep, but put on Cleanup for removing the POV. Andre Engels 11:39, 13 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • Keep, but I think the Time Dollars redirect is questionable since it was advertizing and we should delete it. Daniel Quinlan 22:44, Nov 14, 2003 (UTC)
      • I don't see how the 'Time Dollars' reference is 'advertisng', certainly it isn't any more. Time Dollars are as 'real' as LETS, and a recognised form of alternative currency, it's quite likely that somebosy wanting to know about alternative currencies might type in 'time dollars'. Can'rt see any reason to delete the re-direct. quercus robur 14:35, 15 Nov 2003 (UTC)
      • Hmm, I disagree (on Time Dollars). Do you want to list it seperately? Martin 01:32, 15 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • This article didn't look advertorial at all to me. The only company tie-in was in a link at the very end, and the overwhelming majority of the article was taken up by text. Wiwaxia 04:22, 16 Nov 2003 (UTC)
    • Now listed on cleanup. Angela
