Fanum House edit
"The venue closed in 1955 and the building was demolished to make way for an extension to Fanum House."
This can't be right, as the Fanum House linked to is in Basingstoke. There is a reference to a Fanum House in London but this isn't it. FieldOfWheat (talk) 14:22, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- Arguably the Fanum House article ought to have a description of "The original headquarters in Leicester Square, London, was also called Fanum House". In which case it's the Fanum House that needs changing rather than the link here. Nigej (talk) 15:11, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think I agree. Fanum House appears to be what the AA called their buildings across the country. The only one that appears to be distinguished is the one in Basingstoke. The London one is in the NW corner of Leicester Square, by the Swiss clock; it now contains the Lego shop. It's not very distinguished and doesn't have a Wikipedia page. I don't think the Fanum House article needs the description you propose, because the one in Basingstoke and the one in London are different buildings. Neither appears to be 'the original headquarters'. There are, for example, Fanum Houses in Belfast, Halesowen, Maidstone, and Exeter and perhaps there are others.
- Instead I think the links to Fanum House on this article about Thurston's Hall should be removed; i.e. just remove the double-square-brackets at each of the two references to Fanum House, and perhaps replace with the words 'Fanum House, Leicester Square', so it's clear it's not Basingstoke.
