I'll take this one on Bladeboy1889 (talk) 16:17, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
On initial reading it looks like a pass. I'll add in any queries / issues into the relevant sections below as there are a couple of minor points that I think could do with fixing. Put any responses / comments / updates inline so I can see what's been looked at. I've not contributed to TV articles myself so please let me know if anything I suggest contravenes MOS or is generally frowned upon by relevant wikiprojects.
Well-written
editGenerally well written - couple of minor points:
- The plot starts with "One night, a man..." - might be just me but it reads a bit clunky. Maybe something like: "Under the cover of darkness an unidentified man..." or similar would read better?
- In the plot section there's this element: "Meanwhile, in prison, the inmate librarian gives Absalom a book about the apocalypse with a newspaper article hidden within about the man who jumped the fence. Absalom later escapes from his prison by attacking a guard with a board with a nail in it." It jars a bit as there's no reference to who Absalom is and seems to require knowledge of the show outside of what's included in the article (I stopped watching it way before this point so I've no idea who he is ;) ). Might be better rephrased to make this clearer. Also in the context of the prose 'the inmate librarian' reads as though he may be a major character by referring to him in the definite article - but I'm guessing he's just a passing bit-part? If so could this be reworded to reflect this?
- In the production section: "David Duchovny agreed with this method, noting, "I completely thought it was correct that they should be trying to focus elsewhere, and that, since I was join to come back for the second half of season eight..." - 'since I was join to come back...'? - Can you review the quote and fix it (if I'm right in assuming that isn't what he said!)
- Broadcast section: It keeps repeating 'The episode...' at the start of multiple sentences, some rewording to add a bit of variety and remove repetition would help, particularly in the first para where there are some very short repetitive sections.
- The first para of the lead does the same as the point above.
- The last sentence of the lead, about DD agreeing with how his character was being written out seems a bit clunky and brief - can this be re-phrased / expanded slightly?
Factually accurate
editNo problems here - the refs seem to check out and are of reasonably reliable sources.
Broad in coverage
editThis is where I think it might stand a bit of expansion:
- In the production section is there scope for including the dates of it's production, filming etc? Anything about the casting? Early drafts of the script? More location details? Or any other details on the making of the episode? It just seems a little sparse as it is.
- Broadcast: Some context of it's ratings compared to the series itself would be good - ie was this a high rating for the series or a low point? Maybe within both the season and the ongoing series? Were there any mitigating circumstances or external factors for it's rating (good or bad)? (ie did it premier opposite the Superbowl?) Are there any audience appreciation figures available (not sure if they exist in the US, they are often quoted UK programmes based on the channel's own research)
- Other media: a section on releases on DVD and any other media (ie novelizations or comic strips if there were any?)
Neutral
editPass - no issues there.
Stable
editYep - no worries.

Conclusion
editI think this should pass if you can have a look at the points above. Bladeboy1889 (talk) 17:24, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I fixed all the prose issues, rearranged some lines, and fixed the quote. As for the production section, there is really diddly squat written about this episode (and the season in general), so I got about all I could for the production section. As for rating info, I have only been able to find ratings info in household numbers, whereas other seasons are in viewer numbers. I know that the Eighth season was about at the same level as the Seventh season when it came to viewers, but that's about it.--Gen. Quon (talk) 14:36, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Also added a bit about its release on the The X-Files Mythology, Volume 4 – Super Soldiers] collection.--Gen. Quon (talk) 14:39, 21 June 2012 (UTC) I believe everything is fixed now! Thanks for reviewing.--Gen. Quon (talk) 14:39, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- I made a few more prose tweaks to just improve the flow further and fix one typo. Everything else seems fine. I take your point about no further production info - I've had a scout around and there's certainly nothing online - maybe people had lost interest in the show by then. Anyway - I'll pass it now. Thanks for responding to my comments. Bladeboy1889 (talk) 16:14, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
