Description of wizardry edit

It seems quite clear to me that "Wizardry" in the books is not a "talent" of the same nature as the others. Rather, wizards are "the wise". They are the deep thinkers, philosophers, scientists of the world. This is borne out by Peter's mortification when he discovers that Jinian is a wizard, because he told her that she "didn't understand" -- this is something that is clearly considered fatuous to say to a wizard.

This view is also, in my opinion, backed up by the assertion that "the talents of wizards are left unstated": a wise position for people in a physically vulnerable situation. The wizards know that if it was generally recognised that they had no physical powers, they could individually be easily killed or otherwise sidelined. Ensuring the air of mystery over their talents would make the less intellectually-gifted gamesmen far less likely to attack them personally. 134.225.56.76 (talk) 17:58, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
