Does any one know how the phrase "TAB" for pay the bill originated from??

It's a truncated form of "tabulation". DS (talk) 12:58, 28 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the following paragraph on the grounds that an interview (which, by the way, is behind a paywall) does not represent an objective or reliable source. Before it goes back in I think it need a proper reference. Alternatively it could be reworded as "Kelvin Mckenzie has claimed that The Tab has managed to report stories faster than its print rivals" but I don't see what the reader gains from knowing Kelvin Mckenzies opinion on this matter.

Since then The Tab has, in the majority of cases, managed to report stories faster than its print rivals. This fact was remarked upon by Kelvin MacKenzie, ex-editor of The Sun in a feature outlining the operation of the website for The Times newspaper supplement, T2 magazine.[1]

I have also updated the section of Tab-totty to better reflect the fact all the references given report the event negatively and removed the line

In its first fully-operational month, November 2012, the group attracted 235,000 unique readers. until it can be referenced. I think this is reasonable since readership numbers on other newspaper wiki pages are referenced and this could, frankly, be made up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simon90 (talkcontribs) 16:55, 21 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
