South Bank Show Awards edit

Should this page give some information about the South Bank Show Awards? I understand that they're fairly prestigious, but in a quick search I wasn't able to find an online source with a list of award winners and nominees. I'd be interested in seeing such a list, if anyone knows where to find it. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 23:09, 6 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

History and its name edit

How did The South Bank Show come by its name? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.56.51.42 (talk) 18:26, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

According to the London Weekend Television entry it is made at South Bank Television Center.MartinSFSA (talk) 09:31, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yep, London Weekend was based on the South Bank of the Thames in one of the few skyscrapers around there at that time; when they one the contract for weekend broadcasting there was quite a shennanigan about what they would call their HQ (See perhaps Michael Grade, Thames Televison). "Live from London" was one suggestion, if I recall correctly.

Not seen in Australia edit

It's quite deceptive to say it is seen in Australia--I've seen all of two episodes, exclusively broadcast as documentaries on the subject. When Panorama is screened here as Four Corners the broadcaster lets the audience assume it's been produced by them--of late the Panorama reporters seem to make a habit of using the phrase "But Panorama has...". Link edit

The link "high art" links to a film of the same title, rather than the intended content.

I removed it since in quotes it is arch, sounds like high art is bad (c.f. Highbrow, or search "ars longa, vita brevis). SimonTrew (talk) 18:33, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
