Influenced by Enigma? edit

Um, I may be mistaken, but didn't Michael Cretu do some of the drum loops on this album? I recall seeing this somewhere, may have even been in the liner notes. Anyway, if that's true, then the album is more than inspired by Enigma, it's almost a collaboration. Kel - Ex-web.god 19:26, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well it ain't in the liner notes of the 1994 or the 1995 re-release, and a web search did not find anything concrete. It just seems like people comparing the sound to Enigma and the fact that Oldfield worked with Michael Cretu on Islands.TubularWorld 20:27, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for looking. I know I saw this somewhere that I think was reputable. IIRC, it may have just been the one loop in Let There Be Light, and was uncredited. I'll see if I can find it in my piles of Oldfield stuff. Kel - Ex-web.god 07:34, 5 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Mike oldfield tsode album cover.jpg edit

Image:Mike oldfield tsode album cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The Cassette Version? edit

I am not sure if this is very relevant but there was of course an audiocassette version of this, I had the 1994 audiocassette version of this album. The cassette inlay also had the original cover picture of the flying manta ray and various quotes from Arthur C. Clarke and other such stuff I should imagine was also in the CD and LP covers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.193.61.125 (talk) 17:26, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

As of 5/09/19, the original 1994 cassette versions of this album are still on sale at ebay (here). Back in 1994, the cassette version of this album sold far more than the CD version. In fact, for every CD version of this album sold three more were sold in cassette form. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C4:BC03:500:7C4D:565E:3459:981 (talk) 15:01, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
