The Osmond Brothers often state that they lost out on their chance to perform hard rock and roll music and their recording career, due to the success of the Donny & Marie television show. However, it you listen to The Proud One album (recorded and released prior to the TV show), you can clearly see this wasn't the case at all. They weren't taking their recording career into a hard rock genre. Their recordings consisted mainly of soft pop ballads.
