editI took out a redundant, repeated word. Incidentally, in the sentence it is from, I don't follow why the "Marple" TV series should be thought to be influenced by the "Poirot" adaptations. It's an interesting crossover point, though. Even more incidentally, I wish some Christie fiend could explain to me, about this story, how Edith Binns could have identified a photograph. It's not as though SHE could have spotted Mr Osborne as the gasman, or whatever. Oh yes, I should have corrected the spelling of Osborne's name.
