Talk:The One That Got Away (Katy Perry song)

So I guess it's not a single. edit

That's perfectly fine, we can wait until we get a release date. I don't want an article war like in Firework haha.

It's a single now so i think we need a page :) 98.225.198.202 (talk) 21:54, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why not? edit

The subject is notable enough and there's momentum built up, there's no harm in removing the re-direct. I understand rules are rules, but the song is soaring up iTunes and the radio. Shouldn't Wikipedia be helpful? When people come on here, they want to learn about the song, not be redirected somewhere else.

What I'm saying is, in the spirit of the law, this should be an article (It's really quite notable). It's now a completely official full blown single from one of the world's biggest pop stars...if there were no rules no one in their right mind would not support a page for this song. In the letter of the law, this shouldn't be an article yet, but I'm just saying there's really no harm in removing the redirects and revealing the information for all. :) Peterbrabel (talk) 02:48, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fully protected edit

This title has been protected as a redirect to Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album) for one month, per a request at RFPP. Some editors are warring to restore this as a full article, but there is no talk page consensus that a separate article on the song ought to exist. (Editors in general are not convinced that the song has been released as a single). If consensus is found that a separate article is justified, ask for unprotection at WP:RFPP. Date? edit

Billboard said the song was to impact mainstream radio in the US on September 28th, but then we have another source stating that it was sent to mainstream radio on the 11th of October. "Full release"? That doesn't make any sense at all. Quite evidently, the September date didn't happen as planned and was changed to the 11th. — Status {talkcontribs 21:03, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Genre= edit

Pop and dance pop? Sure the song is both, but dance pop is a subgenre of pop, so putting both genres is redundant since every dance pop song is also pop, im going to remove dance pop, since in the composition section says that its a pop song with influences of dance pop and teen pop. if anyone disagrees please say so, thank you 24.227.9.114 (talk) 17:48, 26 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
