Original name edit
This was first called "La Reine s'amuse" when it played in Marseilles 31 December, 1912 but changed to joyeuse in 1918, six years later. See: Operetta: a theatrical history by Richard Traubner, p. 288, Psychology Press, 2003 ISBN 0415966418. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:47, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

- No. it says merely that it first played as stated above, which was a take-off of the Victor Hugo title "La Roi s'amuse". Then, six years later, it played in Paris at the Apollo Theatre there. It also states that the aging GG was in a "golden wig and trying to look as youthful as possible". -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:06, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
