Where It is Mentioned

edit

Could someone clarify what "the elf was an unimportant part of the book" actually means? Does it mean that the imaginary book was unimportant in The Village? --ArtifexCrastinus 22:51, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, the book played an unimportant role in the book, as it didn't influence the plot. I assume Snicket wanted to mock that particular kind of fairy tales that are overly upbeat and whimsical.--Orthologist 16:04, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Extremely Minor?

edit

Extremely minor probably doesn't merit its own page. Does anybody think we should merge this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Orthologist

Agree in principle, but where would you merge it to? Its appearances span multiple books and the movie; splitting it between those would be confusing, so it would probably just end up being deleted. Besides, apparently there's plenty of material on it.81.132.183.220 10:32, 17 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's most major appearance is The Vile Village. I think it should be merged there. — The Man in Question (gesprec) · (forðung) 11:37, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Nick.com

edit

Someone's added a reference to the title of The End being given away on Nick.com in Sebald Code on a page about the Littlest Elf. However, I'm pretty sure we'd have heard about it at the time if that was so, and the only reference I can find online to anything like this is when there was a Littlest Elf puzzle on Nick.com in connection with TheNamelessNovel.com for The Penultimate Peril (not The End). So if anyone can remember this, or put a link on it, I'd appreciate it. 81.132.183.220 13:56, 19 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
